Creative spirit, Ground of our Being, the Christ within:

In the lives of those around us, we see ourselves.

As we do unto others,
so are our actions, words and thoughts returned.

May our kindly impulses, generous wishes, thoughtful prayers

become the words that we speak and the things that we do.

Leader :         With the spring comes the greening;

Response :    From our passion come our actions.

We give thanks for the goodness of rain
and the greatness of sunshine!

for regeneration in the cooler months,
and the promise of spring:

We acknowledge the greening force,
in nature’s vegetation and in us—

We give thanks for good health
and think of those whose lives are touched by dis-ease.

We hold in our hearts those who are unwell, or grieving, or in need.

With the spring comes the greening;

From our passion come our actions.

As we journey forward together, may this truly be a place
where
the desire for beauty and the care for others flourishes.

In kauri and icon, in bread and wine,
in worship and shared meals,

we celebrate and build the commonwealth of freedom
here, in our community.

We think of all those associated with the Earth Summit in [Johannesburg].

May care for the earth and its resources,

the nourishing of our planet

and the nurturing of all people

be uppermost in their decision-making and action.

With the spring comes the greening;

From our passion come our actions.

Here in New Zealand, we remember those in our 46th Parliament

and especially those who lead in government.

May the weight of processes and expedience

not crush the spirits of all who would do good,

govern thoughtfully, and work for peace.

With the spring comes the greening;

From our passion come our actions.

September brings not only the spring, but Father’s Day.

We celebrate good parenting, whoever it’s done by;

we hold in our hearts those who haven’t experienced,
or still don’t have, the care of loving families;

and we give thanks for the caregivers of all sorts in our lives,

for those who help us become all we’re meant to be,

and who remind us that we are loved.

As we receive, so may we pass on the light, the love.

With the spring comes the greening;

From our passion come our actions.

Amen
