spring to summer

Prayers of the people on the last Sunday of Spring in Aotearoa New Zealand (optional theme: The Reign of Christ)

We give thanks for the spring which is almost at an end. This time next week we’ll be in summer and a new season with different sorts of miracles will begin.

On this last Sunday of spring, at the approach of Advent, let us reflect on the different insights that a new season, a new set of experiences—or the same ones over again—can bring.

We hold in our hearts all who are in need of healing of body, spirit and mind, and those who care for them. We give thanks for all healers, professionals and volunteers, therapists, practitioners and friends; those who care for us, in our dark times, in our lighter times

those for whom the hardest thing to do, is realise that sometimes you can do nothing
except be there, and that may the richest gift—

A gift we all can offer:
forgiving ourselves and others, treading lightly, living thoughtfully
[optional: celebrating the reign of Christ]
in our communities and on the sacred earth.
